Hello and welcome to the third and final installment of my series on extracurriculars. If you’re a new subscriber (welcome — there are many of you, yay!), be sure to check out part one, which explored the benefits of extracurriculars as well as why parents feel so much pressure to sign their kids up for them; and part two, which investigated the potential downsides of extracurriculars as well as how many activities could be too many.

Today, I am going to discuss how and when to check in with your child about extracurriculars, when to quit activities and why, and what we can do as parents to make extracurriculars more equitable.
