First things first, a couple of requests! If you’ve read my new book Hello, Cruel World!, I’d be oh so grateful if you’d leave an Amazon review. (Or just a rating with no review — that is super helpful too!) Most people who read books don’t leave them, and I get it because who has the time, but they really do help sell books. The most recent review starts with this: “My main goal as a parent is to prepare my kids to live fulfilling, interesting, and happy lives as adults. This book is a research-based handbook for just that.” Love.

Second: I’m working on an essay about the benefits of unconventional sleeping arrangements. If you don’t sleep in the same bed as your partner, and it’s an arrangement that works well, I would love to hear from you. You wouldn’t need to be named in the piece. Please email me at melindawmoyer at gmail.com.

One of my favorite parts of summer vacation is the extra reading time. This year I haven’t had a lot of free time for books, but I was on vacation last week, visiting friends in D.C. and exploring West Virginia, and I delved into three new novels I’d been looking forward to for a while. They did not disappoint.
